26-30 Photo Challenge

26. peaceful
Strolls in the park to keep you close to nature. Love it especially during quiet mornings when you get to really take your time and just breathe. Try not taking your phone, I am someone who definitely tries to take just keys, camera and some food to go out for the day and explore the area.

27. obsession
I AM SO IN LOVE WITH VOLCANO MILKSHAKES. Yes I am lactose intolerant and it hurt so much later on but I swear I will always go through the pain just because these are amazing and wonderful and I want to try them in every shop. This particular combination is galaxy caramel and milky way with oreo crushed on top and chocolate cake on top. It tasted like ice cream but better and it's just so amazing ^o^
28. celebration
This was a wonderful piece the bride had made for her wedding! I am so in awe of how the whole wedding was put together and how magical it all looked!
29. pattern
Of course I need to include sky picture for pattern because it's a sunny day and I love British weather because of how much it changes and how you never have to get used to one in particular cause give it 5mins and there'll be a whole new weather prediction ... I think it rained that day :p
30. self portrait
I'd like to end this challenge with a poem I found on Pinterest which I think helps decipher a true definition of beautiful <3

You are not your bra size, nor are you the width of your waist, nor are you the slenderness of your calves. You are not your hair colour, your skin colour, nor are you a shade of lipstick. Your shoe size is of no consequence. You are not defined by the amount of attention you get from males, females, or any combination thereof. You are not the number of sit ups you can do, nor are you the number of calories in a day. You are not your moustache. You are not the hair on your legs. You are not a little red dress. You are no amalgam of these things.

You are the content of your character. You are the ambitions that drive you. You are the goals that you set. You are the things that you laugh at and the words that you say. You are the thoughts you think and the things you wonder. You are beautiful and desirable not for the clique you attend, but for the spark of life within you that compels you to make your life a full and meaningful one. You are beautiful not for the shape of the vessel, but for the volume of the soul it carries.

Nail Care

I feel like I just realised my nails, don't get me wrong I love that they help me peel stickers and are the saviour during those crazy itching moments but nail care... Like manicures and things like it's all just so foreign to me. To be honest I'm not so fussed about the shape of my nails but more the general health and care. Like how have they survived wow Well after that vuja de moment I decided to add a simple practise to help strengthen my nails and give them a little love more often for all the protection and honestly just for putting up with my lack of safety when peeling oranges or picking at them during boredom.

Flower Market (Columbia Road)

Hey there's a big secret as to why I wanted to buy flowers this Summer because well I'm going to turn 18 this year and in all my younger years I have never been gifted flowers. Now obviously not from a relationship partner but like never from my family or friends. To be honest I get why like it doesn't suit my personality, I'm the child at heart, the happy go lucky; buy me sweet treats instead but I still think there's a beauty in flowers that cannot be matched by anything else. They are natural works of art.
So as a (teeny bit) sad little forget-me-not I decided I wasn't going to wait for someone to buy them for me because I was going to buy my own flowers!

So every Sunday there's a flower market open in Columbia Road (London) where freshly imported flowers are sold. I went here hoping to not only find a bunch of beautiful flowers but to also really take in the environment and colour as I would like it to be a place I go often. I'm going to warn you it is very busy even on regular days so the narrow road may not be so fun for claustrophobic people or if you're in a rush. However I did really get to spend my time just looking at all the different stalls and getting to take it in. I would really recommend going with a friend and people watch and as a pretty place to visit.

I wasn't just interested in roses I also really was quite excited to see lots of tall and bold sunflowers being sold however I did purchase a mini cactus! They just seemed so cute and quirky I'm super glad I got one and I've named it Ellie so hopefully you will see her in some posts! I did buy a bunch of roses for my mum because flowers are always a lovely surprise xx

Flowers are always a good idea. Indulge a little. Or a lot.

16-20 Photo Challenge

16. in my bag
Last days of college means not really having to carry work, I mean I took my tablet and a little book in case I need to take notes but mainly an umbrella cause the weather is unpredictable, a reading book to pass the time and all other extras like body mist to keep me smelling fresh and cute and other little beauty products!

17. fave shop
Lush. I may not shop here often but honestly every time I go it's like going to Wonderland. All the products are good for your skin and the planet so there's no need to worry about any harm like that; although that might be a little be costly and Lush is aware of that so if you just want to come in for a little snoop around at the new products then that's totally okay too. The bath bomb used in the picture is Fizzbanger as I was feeling very bright and wanted some lovely smells to match, it's a very citrusy bath bomb with lovely light smells and lots of colour, at the end it does make the water very green but I just felt like I was laying in deep green grass which was sort of perfect for the season.

18. inspiration
Recently I went to University College London open day and I learned about an Arts and Science BASc which caused me to fall in love with the idea of university still being flexible and more suited to me then a set path I have to follow. The course allows you to follow part Arts and part Science so you truly get the best of both worlds. However no matter how in love I am with the course itself for now it is just a distant dream as to get in you need A*AA which is very far from my sight. I am determined to try and give it my best and hopefully this will be where I go.

19. love
It was the last day of college and it was a l o n g morning of personal statement work but the ending was good. I miss it. It was nice to be around the new friends I had made that year and see them all happy for the last time. It was was a lovely day and we decided to have henna done with the date just as a memento for the day. This picture wasn't taken by me cause I was in it but I like the bold colours and how bright and happy it is, showing the love of friendship and how bonds can be made so easily and have such an important impact on people.

20. something new
My Mummy bought me a new laptop and I swear I'm so happy with it!!! It's a tablet with an attachable keyboard which I love because it's basically a 2-in-1 and I love the colour and it's the perfect size and it does everything I need to and I'm so happy with this. THANK YOU MUMMY I love you so much and I am so happy with this.

5 things to do for Summer

It's August, the official Summer month so here's a mini checklist of the five main things to do this Summer so that you can look back at some of these days and see how little adventures helped make a perfect holiday!

1. Go to a flower market [ ]

Been putting this off for so long but right now is an amazing time to go to a market, specifically a flower market! It's nothing major but there's something lovely about bright, vibrant flowers and bouquets that have been tailored to your liking that brings in a special bit of joy into your life. If you're one who likes to stay in your cave and hide in Summer then this is actually perfect just because little shopping trips to places you haven't been is wonderfully relaxing, you get to look at all these new products for as long as you want then leave. Seriously you don't even have to buy anything if you don't want to. Take as many people as you want and be proud at the end for leaving your house.
lol I feel like I've just disclosed my biggest secret and how I beat looking like a secret cave woman.

2. Watch a horror movie [ ]

Okay I'm a wuss. No. Yes. OKay in actual situations I'd like to think I'd be somewhat responsible and calm but with movies I swear the suspenseful music jUst gets to me. My recommendation is to start light with movies like 'Scary Movie', 'Insidious' and 'Warm Bodies' then dive into movies like 'Conjuring' or 'The Shining'. If that all sounds like too much then take a trustworthy friend to the cinema and watch a horror movie and then get them to promise to not tell anyone how terrified you were. This one is kind of specific to me because I need to get over this fear but you can tailor it to a fear or bad habit you want to get over; this is the longest break for most so it's the perfect time to start all those plans and really keep to them. Come on, you got this!

3. Visit an ART exhibition [ ]

This is sort of like the flower market but also includes your brain as well as heart. I'm a passionate photography student so this is just right up my alley but I still recommend this to anyone just because beauty is a basic service that helps open you to new thoughts and ideas that help you develop and connect more with oneself. I feel like museums, talk and exhibitions are such great places for inspiration and should be a regular event to look out for.

4. Add new room decor [ ]

As the seasons change so does your mood and overall output, brightening up your comfort zone may help keep you bright and is just such fun. I recommend looking on Pinterest for fun ideas and things to do as they have so much I'm sure you'll find things you like. I have been really into the whole teen photograph college but recently it's been looking sort of boxy and boring... I was on Pinterest and found the idea to simply use string and pegs as a more creative way to hang photos whilst adding a personal touch! Obviously if you're living the lazy life than simply buying some pieces work too!

5. Create a scrapbook [ ]

More than half the year has passed and what do you have to show for it? Nah I'm not trying to bring back the resolutions, I'm asking on how you plan to remember all the good times the little trips to the shops for late night snack with friends or that leaflet from that random event hey even the lolly stick from the trip to the park with the family is a sweet little memento that might want to be kept. I suggest a little box so that you could either write about the day in a letter r card and add it or just put a keepsake. This idea really is super sweet and worth the effort especially when you get to go through it some time later either by yourself or even with the people you got to share those memories with!
